BCGBA RULES REVISION
The British Crown Green Bowling Association held their Rules Revision Meeting at Winnington Park on Saturday 21st January.
Most of the proposed Notices of Motions don't affect competition bowling but of those that did, none received the two-thirds majority required to see a change to the rules.
A proposal from North Lancs & Fylde that the Senior County Championship introduces a quarter-final stage was DEFEATED and, as a consequence, they withdrew their same proposal for the Junior County Championship and their proposal to end both Supplementary County Championships.
A proposal from Cheshire that County Associations could 'opt out' of the supplementary events was DEFEATED as was their proposal that all Open Competitions must adhere to the Dress Code.
There was just one minor change to the actual Laws of the Game but a new rule proposed by the Management Committee that amendments to the Laws of the Game can only be proposed every third year except at an Extraordinary General Meeting was unanimously CARRIED.
Results of all the voting can be seen at www.crowngreenbowls.org.
